The Library According to Mary

This blog is about my experiences in the Educational Technology Ed.D program at the University of Florida. Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments. My interests include the intersection of libraries, education, and technology and their effect on distance education. I'm also exploring the concept of multiple literacies, including how media, visual, and information literacy relate and the implications for libraries.

Librarians to the Rescue

If you've ever wondered what the libraries were for and what librarians can do for you, then check out the new library video series "Librarians to the Rescue".

A couple months ago the libraries got together with Academic Technology and created a series of videos about the library. Several HSC librarians are featured as well as the interiors of the Marston Library and HSC Library.

What do you think about the videos? Are they good for undergraduates? graduate students?

My New Website

My New Website is still under construction, but I think you can get the gist from what is complete so far. I'll be adding more pages, activating more of the links, and adding lots of photos during the break. If you have any feedback on my efforts please let me know :-)

I'm having issues with getting my grove account activated -- something about my gatorlink username being too long. I have to walk up to the CSE building and talk to the helpdesk people. Once I get that taken care of and upload my pages I'll post the link. Get ready for a lot of family pics, mostly of Allison, as she's a camera loving, photogenic little ham :-)

Final Products

I've finally got my final book review and literature review posted. I reviewed Friedman's The World is Flat and the topic of my literature review dealt with assessment.

Literature Review

If you get a chance to read either of them now that things are quieting down (maybe a little)...I'm always welcome for feedback :-)
